unrelated to the Kiri-same post, some miscellaneous inks that we've tried that have been a bust:
- Diamine Candle Light: goodness, we wanted to like this one, but it just really did not want to behave. constant stops and starts in both a Pilot Metropolitan and a Picasso 902 - both pens wrote perfectly well with other inks, so it was Just This Ink Specifically that really did not want to leave the pen. irl violant ink behavior, except it's a pretty shaded gold-yellow instead of blue-burgundy.
- Octopus Fluids Phoenix: either there was not as much sheen for us as for others or the sheen simply blends too well into the base color. either way, the end result was that it was less of a sheening ink and more of a very vivid orange ink, which was pretty but not the effect that we wanted
- Pilot Iroshizuku Chiku-rin: ??? this one was so puzzling, considering that we also tried Kiri-same and Murasaki-shikibu from the same line and they were the Most well-behaved inks. but Chiku-rin just lowkey feathered? constantly? even on fancy fountain pen paper?? it drove us nuts. really wonder if we just got a weird sample. but if it held its shape properly it would have been my personal favorite. love plants...
they were still pretty and fun inks, but we're content to leave them as 5ml samples
