(fallen london stamps by I'm also gonna vouch for RSS readers as a way to keep up with posts from a bunch of different sites! Especially if you, like me, have no interest in going back to Tumblr or other big socmed sites but do want to keep track of pals there. FreshRSS is my personal recommendation (it esp works great with Tumblr posts), but it needs to be hosted - PikaPods will set one up for you with minimal maintenance for like two bucks a month. Otherwise, there's a bunch of free ones around.
It looks like my fedi instance comes with RSS feeds, but they render kind of oddly in FreshRSS. Though I guess you can always use the "view on original site" function if your reader has one, or click through.
