oh yeah, I should mention again: https://www.schlaugh.com/ is another tiny social media with a disdain for Numbers, with its main thing being that the site only updates Once a day. that means you can make only One (1) post per day, and that your feed updates Once (1ce) per day, which works very well to curb the amount of time you can be trapped on it. there are no likes, reblogs, or comments - people instead interact by tagging each other in their daily posts and alloting a small part of said daily post to reply to each other.

it's definitely not everyone's jam, but the vibes were good the last time I was on it and I've seen multiple people on my feed express a desire for a Numbers-Free chill place to longpost about stuff!

ah yeah, why not https://www.schlaugh.com/bazelgeuse-apologist

(be warned that my profile pic is a snake photo. this is because all default profile pics are snake photos on schlaugh. it will be changed with the next schlaupdate!)

it's only been two days, but I've already been liking it more than I expected! it has the energy of like... idk, putting together a small morning newspaper for the folks who've managed to turn over your specific log in the woods and decided they want more, and the once-a-day posting structure reinforces that. I've just been picking out things from my cohost to crosspost there, as well as rounding up some of my fedi poasts and putting them in too, with lines separating them into sections. again, newspaper kinda feel, but without the like... weightiness of actually starting a newsletter.

unsure how long I will keep up with it, but that's another RSSable option if you want to Subscribe to Poasting. schlaugh also renders weird on RSS (as it doesn't render in readers at all - you have to click through) but maybe that's for the better considering some of the platform-specific markup it has.
