my current PLD glam - I already kinda wasn't feeling the traditional blue and white garb, and then the PLD 60 quest came along and I went "lolno definitely not." so here's my character rocking the "modestly dressed traveler with a sweet sword" aesthetic, feat. the dyed crystarium set, the shire sword, and some random shield from an ARR dungeon.

(pictured at right: I do plan on upgrading to "modestly dressed traveler with a sweet sword AND shield" eventually, but that requires the shield from the level 73 dungeon, and that requires... being level 73. soon!)

He looks very good in the Crystarium getup. I do appreciate that the game supports more realistic sets of armor as well, because sometimes you just want to be a grunt with dirt on their boots.

I also approve of glam plans tier(s) above your current level. The reason I started leveling Dragoon is because I got a level 80 Nasty Hat and I need to wear it.

(Yes, I know there would have been an easier way with the Reaper, but I refused the call. I make my own difficulty)

Yeah, same on more realistic armor. My personal preferences are "sleek and elegant but sensible and subtle." Stuff with clean silhouettes and tasteful patterning in a few key areas. Unfortunately a LOT of MMOs go right for NOISY TEXTURES AND PARTICLE EFFECTS EVERYWHERE, but FFXIV has been kind to me!
