at what depth of the "tanking in ffxiv" iceberg is "carrying lowbie potions because even though they're numerically weaker they have incredibly short cooldowns and heal a significant amount of your health in lowbie content, thus letting you get back a quarter of your health every 35 seconds when you're dragging some poor terrified sprout healer along in your wake"

(with thanks to my partners for pointing this out to begin with... and then promptly handing me a pile of the lowbie potions they'd accumulated from their PotD solo attempts)

in reply to @bazelgeuse-apologist's post:

People tend to forget that you can be a mentor, and only ever have partied a scant amount of times. You only need one tank/healer/dps leveled after all, and you could do that entirely through MSQ roulette which is easy mode, and never touch any of the extreme trials until you get thrown in one randomly.

All good, I do think there needs to be stronger delineation for mentors, between 'I'm willing to do a roulette with new people in it for a reward' and 'I'm willing to do old extreme trials synched and teach people actively how to do it' because the two get conflated so bad in the mentor roulette.
