The thing about self-hosting is that I want the freedom to SFTP into my site’s guts and fuck things up for myself, but I don’t want the stress of “something somewhere went rogue and now your site is eating 2000 GB RAM on a day when you have no spoons to deal with it”

Basically things fucking up is fine as long as it happens on my schedule

#I may or may not have PTSD from the one time I attempted to self-host a PluralKit instance #like eight times a day it would chug bc it was maxing out its Computer Capacity and I would have to restart it #and it was in Docker which was not great for someone who trusts containers about as much as I trust printers #unsure how typical a self-hosting experience this is but golly
