I know this is 100% my cultural bias speaking, but I'm always a little taken aback whenever I see Japanese chopsticks. what do you Mean you've tapered the ends and now they don't sit flush against each other anymore when you put the chopsticks together
(the answer is that they're shaped that way to make eating seafood easier - whereas Chinese chopsticks are Long and Thicc to make it easier to grab a variety of food off of communal plates)
