Just sort of Whatever
onegross.online/

The answer to both "whatever happened to that package you were excitedly waiting for?" and "why do you have to restart a pokemon game?"1 is here. It's a modified Game Boy Color that was lovingly made by Allison Parrish.

It is a Frankenstein Game Boy which contains parts of both a Color and a Pocket motherboard installed into a Pocket shell and with a replaced screen and a rechargeable battery (the port on the bottom beside the headphone jack is USB-C). The thing beside it is the manual/personalized zine.

I just got it, so I haven't done much more than turn it on to confirm it works. but I already love it.

If you are interested in Game Boys, you should check out the clamshell Pocket Allison made. Also, if you would like to get a cool Game Boy of your own, she is taking commissions, so feel free to reach out to her (just be aware this is a hobby not a job so she may be selective on what commissions she takes).

  1. Note, the pictured game, Pokemon Blue doesn't need to be restarted because I transfered my save from my 3DS2 and onto a flash cart. I have to restart Soul Silver because I'll be playing on my original Pokemon Gold cartridge from when I was a kid as soon as I get a new battery into it this weekend.

  2. I was playing the official Nintendo release and was able to get it off my system because it's actually really easy to hack your 3ds anyone can do it.
