I hate how every website just flashes featureless grey UI elements for multiple seconds whenever you visit now. Used to be having a fast-loading webpage was the most important thing and now who gives a shit I guess
let us keep them forever

this is frankly the least bothersome iteration of it but I feel like so much stuff these days is designed with the consideration of anyone who doesn't have blindingly fast internet in a suburb of California
I always find this funny because residential internet service in the Bay is actually not that great
I feel like there's not really consideration for users with blindingly fast internet either and it's the users its designed for are the developers running the code on localhost while writing it.
Ugh yeah, same as every company’s web designers using a top of the line fast laptop and not some piece of shit five year old $300 laptop like half their users actually have.
Worst part of stuff like this is like.
Back in the old days, if I clicked something by accident I could just hit the stop button on my browser really fast and stay on the page.
Nowadays if I bump the corner of a yt video wrong, trying to click "do not suggest" while I'm jamming out to music, I'm done with that song. No way to stop it bc yt is a SPA now. I am now loading a new page and get to have some annoying youtuber voice dude scream in my ear in place of the Dorian Electra drop I was hyping up for.
