but I don't really get the horizontal row of people at the top. Why would I want a bunch of people I talk to less frequently to have higher billing and bigger tap targets than the people I chat to several times a day?

oh, i wonder if it's differently dumb for me because I have turned scrobbling off or if it's because none of my friends are gaming, but the top bar is just people with little moons by them for me. It is a list of people who are not currently online to talk to
Yeah that's probably it. I noticed if I scroll I get little moons, so I guess that's people who aren't actively doing anything. But why even display that whole widget if the only thing it communicates is "your friends aren't doing a thing discord knows about"?
it's like a third of the vertical space on the tiny screen and i Hate it. the last DM with the first person on mine was 10 months ago istg
that, or simply getting rid of these tiles completely, would simply make too much sense 😮💨
...... actually, now that i'm scrolling through it..... it literally EXCLUDES everyone i've chatted with in the last two weeks????? WHAT.
