Pachinko — Min Jin Lee
My book club read this. I blazed through the first 1/3–1/2 and then the rest was definitely a bit slower for me. I really enjoyed it though and felt like getting another generation or two was worthwhile (if anything, I feel like some of the later characters got slighted slightly). The long multi-generational form of this gives so much room for resonance and mirroring between characters and the way story lines can just abruptly end is a real gut punch. I quite liked this

The Coming of the Book : Impact of Printing, 1450-1800 — Lucien Febvre
I was supposed to read this for a long-defunct book club like half a decade ago. And then that never happened. But now, the book club is back and we're meeting on the first few sections soon. I read the intro back when the book club was first revived and the first section on the bus to work today. So far, this has been incredibly interesting. I am learning a lot.
