Remembering how, back in the day, I went through my contact list and found a song that best matched each person. I think apps/websites should let me choose different tones based on who generated a notification.

Oh, I'd set the default notification noise to silent and then would come up with cool sounds for close friends (and also cool sounds for people I'm not friends with but I think are cool so I'd be excited if they noticed me)
A related thought. I continue to believe adding a dark mode is the cowards choice. Including light and dark themes (and having the concept of light/dark themes in browsers) is useful but I should be able to choose whatever colours I want
