My work book club meets this week and my book club book club book arrived so that's going to be the focus
Just Finished
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold — John Le Carré
I thought this was good, but it was definitely weaker for being 'George Smiley #3'. George Smiley isn't really in the novel and that's good and fine (I haven't read anything else in the series so I'm not invested in him being in it). But the book feels the need to keep having characters bring him up in ways that either don't make sense or give him a level of importance that I don't really understand.
Still Reading
Our Missing Hearts — Celeste Ng
I've finished the first section of this and haven't really gotten into it. Hopefully it wows me in its second half
Too Much to Know: Managing Scholarly Information before the Modern Age — Ann M. Blair
I've only read the first chapter but I'm really liking this so far. I think this is going to be incredibly informative
Now Reading
Mexican Gothic — Silvia Moreno-Garcia
I started this on the bus this morning and I'm already about a third of the way through it. I'm enjoying it so far and am excited to find out exactly what kind of Dracula this is.
Starting Soon
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow — Gabrielle Zevin
We haven't set a date for this book club yet but this looks long so I'll need to start this after I finish either of my other two novels
