"My brain works exactly the way it was designed to" is such a big one, and we wish more people could realize this.

We are better at some things than most neurotypicals are — sometimes way better — and they are better at some things than we are. We have a different skillset, because our brain is structured differently. It's not a worse skillset, it's just not what society expected; that doesn't make our brain defective in any way.

Our being autistic is just as much a gift as it is a hindrance; perhaps even mostly a gift. It doesn't dictate how we function, it's just a name for us functioning differently in the first place.

Sure, our mind works differently, and we struggle with the implications of that every day, but what neurotypical does not also struggle with themselves? Sure, ignorance is bliss, and we just don't have the habit of ignoring. We can perceive every detail of our brain function, and therefore it simply bothers us more than it would bother a neurotypical. But a neurotypical would be just as bothered if they had the ability that we have to peer into our own cognitive function.

basically we have the curse of the smart~
