every single morning I read the National Weather Service forecast discussion for my region and I memorize the forecast discussion for each surrounding state and I internalize reports from the south Atlantic coast just in case. I print out the 6, 12, 24, and 48 hour runs of the Global Forecasting System, the North American Model, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts model, the High Resolution Rapid Refresh model and carry them with me in a hard-plastic briefcase at all times. I have an earpiece in from dawn to dusk tuned to NOAA Weather Radio, and a second earpiece tuned to Weatheradio Canada for sleepy times. I have been voted New England’s Least Pleasant Party Guest five years running in the “Non-Bostonian” category. Unlike the weather I will never change.
