When magic found our world, dragons came with it. Self-appointed stewards of these mystical forces, some were recluses, some were tyrants, some were benevolent guardians and sages, and some were even irreverent tricksters. All were ancient and knowledgeable beyond human understanding, and with that often came no small amount of well-deserved arrogance. So it brought Mathias a bit of satisfaction seeing that the one towering before him was visibly confused.
"Excuse me?" The dragon's voice came out in a low, rumbling growl that was felt as much as it was heard, the meaning behind it instantly translated within the human's mind. They lowered their head to ground level, alabaster scales and polished, curved horns catching the light cast by both the setting sun and their glowing blue eyes as they examined the man.
"I want you to burn me," the human repeated himself, locking eyes with the great beast. "To cinders."
