I had a dream about some new ocs. teheeee!!! there was this cryptid hunter(they/them) and this dryad cryptid(he/him). I'll refer to them as such bc I don't have names picked out quite yet.
it started out years and years before the actual events in the dream took place. cryptid hunter went on a camp trip when they were little (around 8 years old) to one of those kids camping cabin trips that the parents would ship them off to in the summer to get rid of them for a bit. one of those camps. it was stormy one night and they got lost. fell. broke their leg. sat out in the rain for Too Long before the leg breaking happened. then in comes dryad cryptid to the rescue.
dryad cryptid picks them up and carries them back to the camp and imitates their voice and cries out for help (they didn't have enough energy to cry out for help themselves) and then the dryad cryptid left and the kid got emergency care.
then two decades later the meet again. except the cryptid hunter doesn't know he's their cryptid. all they want to do is say thank you but the dryad cryptid doesnt know that. theyr on a mission to figure out who saved them this whole time they interact they have a gay thing going on and dryad cryptid keeps pushing them away because he's a monster and is worried about the cryptid hunter not liking that.
eventually some other Evil cryptid hunters(very literal by definition. they want to kill the beast) find him and reveal his identity. cryptid hunter saves him and gets hurt very badly but they both make it out alive. and then there's the tension.
it ended with the cryptid hunter waking up after being out for a few days and looking over to the dryad cryptid and smiling. saying something like "I knew it was you". I was left w the feeling that they live happily ever after. it was a nice dream
