My doctor ordered the more-accurate version of the estrogen lab test, which is apparently a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method, as opposed to the usual version which is some ELISA variant. As someone who does LC-MS/MS for a living, I'm in favor of using a Serious Analytical Method. But also, I'm bummed that I'm still waiting for the results. But, also, as someone who does LC-MS for a living, I, um, understand that mass spectrometry can be time-consuming...
