I bought a cheap temperature logger and the "certificate of calibration" gives a US address on Qume Dr, San Jose. So my first thought was, wait, was that road named back in the day after the daisy wheel printer company that (checking) was in Hayward originally and opened an office in San Jose at some point? Otherwise that's a name for a road, for sure.
According to teh wiki:
Qume was originally named Ancilex, but, because that name was not unique, changed its name to something that seemed like no one else would have ever used it, Qume. Amusingly, when the manufacturing plant was opened in Puerto Rico, one of the employees hired there was named Qume.
