I saw so many dragonflies today while walking around a park!
This was at Hartung Park, built on the site of a former limestone quarry. The stone was Silurian and they have a bunch of statues of the sorts of things that lived here then. Dragonflies are ancient but like a hundred million years more recent! https://flic.kr/p/8aYupn
THAT IS SUCH A COOL IDEA FOR A PARK TO HAVE!!! Kids have gotta love seeing that at least as much as adults. Really puts everything into perspective. Thank you for sharing the pictures, Michaela!
I love this timeline! "400 million years ago: Silurian reef. 1910-1961: Limestone mined." Skipping over a bit... https://flic.kr/p/2mP1vKk
