The other day we were having a chat at work in the morning and I guess we got to talking about air travel and so then one guy told some stories of the scariest flights in small airplanes to weird tiny airports and the subject of the landing gear and brakes and stopping before sailing off the end of the runway and I'm an airplane nerd, so I got to get into the exciting topic of the autobraking and runway friction testing and the performance calculations and of course the source of cool video on youtube, the rejected takeoff certification test where they end up with the brakes glowing and the tires deflating when the fuse plugs melt while the firefighters stand around waiting for five minutes to simulate the time to get there if this wasn't a test with them waiting at the end of the runway and uh... this is a little bit like autism, isn't it?
