remember that mashup album Mouth Dreams by Neil Cicierega (@NielC)? well, i never heard most the original source songs used in that album (excluding a few exceptions), but i Have listened to the album several dozen times

so. y'all think these Mouth versions of these songs sound cursed (i assume), but TO ME lots of those originals are the ones that sound disgustingly cursed, and the mashup tracks slap hard. help

Here's the thing: You are correct. For example, Closerflies is objectively an amazing track that both slaps and also rewards close listening.

As an aside, it's funny that this keeps happening to Trent Reznor. Hurt simply belongs to Johnny Cash now. Reznor has admitted as much, and I absolutely believe Cash's ghost will fight anyone who disagrees. And even though they're Reznor's sung lyrics, he's simply the featured artist on The Ghost That Feeds, that song belongs to Ray Parker Jr. now. I don't make the rules.

So you know Cicierega needed to square those particular circles. Sorry, Ray: As above, so below. Sorry, Johnny: Neil's just restoring the balance.
