Hands down, my favorite "scary story in webcomic form" from anywhere on the Internet.

Broadly, all of author Emily Carroll's work is excellent, though some of it steers more toward figurative and literal viscera that could warrant a content warning. Not so for HFAR, which does a ton just through its cartoony use of the color red. What I appreciate about His Face All Red is its restraint: It is effective in precisely the manner of a ghost story told around a fire, relying on the way in which it is told to work.
