It's the first informative illustration in Ostelogia (1680), which has the subtitle, "accurate skeletal description of various animals, together with their histories." Most of the animal illustrations also have jaunty poses, presumably to help emphasize the mechanics of their skeletons; the hound seems especially friendly.
