I think that fruit might be a really badly drawn strawberry? I’ve heard strawberries were used to treat depression in the Middle Ages.
It looks a lot like a wild strawberry!! They're spiky and crunchy lol
Or, I guess a mock strawberry is what I'm thinking of. Very interesting plant. This is kinda what they look like: https://www.seeds-gallery.eu/9657-large_default/mock-strawberry-seeds.jpg
Could be a mock strawberry like @trashbees says; I'm not sure when they were introduced to Europe. It's definitely not a strawberry because those are from the Americas
Modern strawberries are a hybrid of New World species, but I was pretty sure Europeans had strawberries before then, and you made me fact check myself. I bet this is a European woodland strawberry, Fragaria vesca! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fragaria_vesca
very sorry to report that the mysterious potion is piss. in the middle ages doctors largely diagnosed people by looking at the color of their pee (and were often mocked as useless piss-gazers). they even used a flask of pee as a sign-marker outside their business. every day i regret that i know this.
I kept trying to like this using the heart in the screenshot and accidentally clicking through.
