If you want some music that keeps you in the groove as you lose track of time, these are it.
I'm sure someone's written about this somewhere, but as a kid it felt weird and sad to me that the endgame of SimCity 2000 involved razing a city, replacing everything with these quite expensive buildings, and then allowing them to launch into space, leaving nothing behind. When I looked up a FAQ and did it, the endgame felt empty.1
Fast-forward two decades, where the rich fleeing to space and leaving the Earth to climate change is within the Overton window, and that weird feeling is definitely still there!
although maybe that's partly since watching it in game took forever
