Nowadays, I see Twitter as this sort of black hole nowadays, sucking in all of the oxygen and leaving me dried up of thoughts to replace it with vague feelings swinging between amusement and disappointment.

New ownership finally broke me to softly remove the app from my everyday checking: -Instead of logging-out or deleting my account, I removed bookmarks. -I buried the app in a folder harder to come upon -I reorganized most page links to put it last in listings.

Basically, I made it far less convenient to check upon it.

I'm someone who gets addicted to mindlessly scrolling thru social media apps, and Twitter had become a major part of it. Now with weeks of not checking upon it, I felt like a chunk of my brain was freed-up. Like gaining some portion of mental free real estate to put to use to wherever else I wanted/needed. Because of it, I also started to feel some sense of boredom at times again, but I honestly look at it as a good thing because I tend to get ideas for things that stem from boredom.

I've started drawing and writing again, I finished a small comic (yes, I'm still proud of that), I've prioritized posting more meaningful things to my Tumblr and FA accounts, which also tended to bleed over to posting on newer profiles elsewhere (Cohost and Pillowfort). I've also found myself in a generally better mood and less prone to feeling like I'm "missing out" on things or I should be constantly upset at stuff happening in the world that, often times, don't affect me or my friends directly.

Of course, in doing so I also leave behind a lot of people who rely on it daily for networking and marketing their content daily, and especially friends who prefer sticking to one or another social media platform and don't see themselves migrating elsewhere for any valid reason.

But I dunno... All I can say is, I'm a bit happier choosing to walk away. [/rant]
