I think a lot about this figure skating broadcast from 1994, shot in Japan's HD MUSE format. Absolutely breathtaking to see the early 90s in such clarity, and to think that some small set of people got to watch it in this format on enormous, 200-pound CRTs at home. I particularly love this shot, where you get to see about $500,000 of tubes in the press box.

that is frankly a jaw-dropping amount of CRTs. are those built into the press box? or did everyone show up with one or two CRTs? is that person with the spreadsheet doing statistics research for color commentary? does that imply they just have a ton of statistics in spreadsheet form that they brought in with them? or that perhaps these statistics were available locally somehow? the mind boggles
