Youtube has been feeding me supercuts of various gundam mechs for some reason, and I have to say, like, it's done me good tbh. Gundam Wing is certainly a show with plenty of flaws and I haven't watched an actual episode in 20 years but the Tallgeese still slaps. It's like if the Gyan actually was the ultramobile Gundam-killer M'Quve thought it was instead of something as stupid as an armored knight fencing on a direct-fire battlefield. With the exception of the helmet crest, everything about it speaks to the fact that it's fast, it kicks ass, and simultaneously strong and nimble. The shoulder joints look like swivel-ball axle assembly on an old land rover, or the similar shoulder of the classic 1990s battletech drawings of a Timberwolf. Zero nonsense, all blasty. Especially in a series that have some beautiful but frankly nonsensical-even-for-a-giant-robot-show designs, Tallgeese is a simple elegance that transcends its position in an AU side story and makes it one of the top 5 gundam robots of all time for me.
