discord only works for me because i only spend my time in 1 or 2 servers
cohost only works for me because its got Enough Content to satiate my short periods of waiting for things throughout my day
tbh i am pretty tired about seeing discourse about Discords as knowledge stores. not that i disagree, but i feel like i'm just seeing the same thing over and over
I miss when it was safe to generally trust places and things on the internet and surf freely
i had to unfollow a bunch of people on cohost who mainly reblog and such so there isn't that much negativity on my feed; i'm going for following people who mainly post and reblog art.

is it a problem if every single service feels like that to me
Its an issue that is Incredibly Specific to Specific Software Discord Servers. it wont be encountered by people who use discord to talk to friends or to join a community. the issue seems to happen when someone goes to look for a wiki but instead its a discord server, which is not what people who use discord just to talk to people will run in to as often
i see it less as Discourse than as people who are constantly beleaguered by this awful stuff letting off steam because they have no choice but to think about it all day
