this reminds me of a couple of my fav weird body sensations I've had:

  1. I'm at DEFCON in like 2010 or 2011, which means I'm in Las Vegas and it's the last weekend of July, so it's hot as Hell1. for some reason I can't remember I've been walking around outside for about 15 minutes so my body has had a chance to acclimate to needing to sweat to lose any waste heat whatsoever, and then I walk back into an air-conditioned hotel. all of a sudden I can feel little jets of cold liquid shooting down my legs and I realize that that's my blood.

  2. it's 2015 and I'm in the hospital. they're running a chest CT on me, which involves injecting an iodine solution into my veins so they show up on an x-ray, through a Hell Machine called a power injector that's capable of infusing a couple hundred milliliters of fluid in like 5 seconds. the power injector warms up the solution so your veins don't spasm from thermal shock, and the CT technician warns me that this causes a lot of people to get the sensation that they've pissed themselves. instead, what I feel is a whole-body flush, and it moves with a weirdly sharp front from the right side of my body to the left side (as the warm liquid gets pumped from my veins, through my heart, and out my arteries) like I'm a before-and-after photo.

  1. ordinarily I would not capitalize hell here but it was quite literally as hot as Hell the actual place
