apparently the dang mononucleosis virus can hang around for a really long time (like, several years) and varies a lot in transmissibility. the best possibility would be that i got epstein-barr syndrome with few symptoms as a kid (very common, apparently and also yes that's just what the virus is called) and have antibodies already in which case it'll be fine

Can relate, when a lady friend of mine was sick with a thing i was like "fuck it, im not avoiding her over this" and nursed her to health, kissed her, shared drinks etc
