There's no such thing as a Linux.
(GNU logo)
There's the Linux kernel. There's GNU/Linux distributions. And there's the Linux Kernel Mailing List. But there's no such thing as a Linux. You see, "Linux" is a kernel, not an operating system unto itself. It is a free component of our fully functioning GNU system that executes the high quality programs developed by the GNU project. So please use the name carefully. And never use it generically to describe all GNU operating systems.
We thank you. Stallman thanks you.
