Learning japanese has made me realize that english speakers are seriously missing out when it comes to names meaning cool things (at least for most people)
some examples of common Germanic two-part first names:
- Albert / Adal-berht "noble bright"
- Richard / Ric-hard "ruler hard" or "strong in rule"
- William / Will-helm "will[power] helmet"
- Edward / Ead-ward "wealth guard"
