i guess i'm a little confused about the whole online subculture of subliminals etc. i mean they demonstrably aren't gonna actually change someone's physical body to give them another arm or turn them into a sphere of pure energy or whatever.
if it's more of an identity-affirming thing or if it's a kink thing that that makes sense to me. maybe it's just the remnants of my teenage atheist phase but i have trouble understanding how people believe in magic being literally real because like if it was i would hope the world would be way better cuz all the gay witches would turn conservative politicians into catgirls or smthn
