that checks out ye. there's celeste maddy, a trans character i wrote named maddy, my real life friend maddy.....
i have even considered the name maddy for my 2nd name but in the end i liked toriel (yes, from undertale) more
my middle name may uh partly be from the author of a trans webcomic, and also because it kept the middle initial J and also it had pun potential (Jocelyn). Do I ever jostle? Yes, actually, jostlin' is my middle name
Tired: "That really rustles my Jimmies"
Wired: "That really jostles my Bethanies"
Shit. Fuck. Like a fool I gambled and lost. I have been thoroughly jostled
If someone were to do this for real (which they obviously shouldn't) I think you'd get more accurate results if you also input the birth year of that person, since in my experience I think trans people have a tendency to pick names that weren't as popular when they were born (I didn't know a single Clara growing up, for example, but a lot of people in my grade had my deadname as their first name)
good point yeah. i was thinking recently that based on my experience, trans people often go with names that are popular when they chose a name, rather than names that were popular back when they were born, which leads to a lot of trans boomers born in the 60s with names popular in the 80s like Heather, or a lot of modern trans zoomers probably have names that are recently popular baby names like Olivia or Ada or Ava or Liam or Sophia
Funnily, my middle name is basically just a gender flip of my deadname's middle name, not in a literal sense but rather swapping my Pop-pop's name for my Nana Bridie's name (Bridget, which totally didn't originally enter the running because Bridget's GGST theme is what broke my egg, nope, definitely not). Not a lot of Bridgets my age, though, at least not around here
i'm sure if we wait a few years we'll see an uptick in trans girls named bridget
Someone at the census bureau in 2030: "Why are all these young trans women named weird shit like 'Brisket' and 'Bucket'??? Kids these days, I swear..."
