(I mean my explanation is that no matter what you do, you can't erase evil from the past Cooper, and when all is said and done, all that remain is the pain from the crime like the scream of Laura Palmer echoing through the age. I'm so sorry, I'm kind of obsessed with Twin Peaks and I couldn't just make a smart ass comment and let my interpretation unexplained, I'm so sorry.)
was tempted to hit you with the words of the man himself, but in the broadest way w/o knowing if you've seen the show or not -- twin peaks is abt exploring both the charm and the deep-rooted evil of small-town americana, and watching our protagonist dale cooper, who believes pureheartedly in the goodness of america, fail again and again to save the women it brutalizes because because he fundamentally cannot understand that behind the charm & the dream is the evil & the nightmare
