well now i gotta figure out how to configure mailx to send an email if the zfs pool has a problem which i've never done before.

if you have zed you can configure it to send emails or even push notifications to your phone with pushbullet. mine dings my phone whenever a scrub finishes
Yeah so I found the zed daemon info but I'm not familiar with mailx and that's where my research goes next
personally i have zero faith that email is a reliable transport of information for stuff like this any more
