i feel like i'm missing something to progress but i don't fuckin know what and playing the same screens over and over trying to figure out just isn't fun

i finished the east forest stuff. there's a tough guy with a spear and shield i can't get past, on a one-tile-wide bridge thingy. i have a manual page that mentions how to use a shield, which would really help, but i don't have a shield
You have page 10 of the Manual? (should have been the first you picked up) What does it list as the first step for the West Bell

This was pretty much my experience of Tunic. It looked like it was designed to appeal to me specifically, and it ended up just frustrating me in multiple ways.
strongly agree yeah. i like 2d zelda and constructed writing systems so i thought i'd like it but i'm just not having fun
