just put "space" in front of things.
"I paid fifty space dollars to take a space cab to the spaceport."

Politics is also important. "Space Corporation had bribed the galactic government with enough credits to fill an X73 freighter and obliterated my home planet to be able to build their space railroad through the system. It was payback time. I dusted off my laser pistol and rode my spaceship to the space station closest to the frontier."
of course you gotta have an evil corporation and/or government corruption. how could i forget. maybe we can also get in some implied social changes like a new space related religion, some incomprehensible technobabble, and some mysterious ancient alien relics
