as it loses any mystery and intrigue and instead becomes a platform for youtubers to post lore videos about and for children to edit fandom wikis about until the every aspect of the whole thing has been laid out and described explicitly and heavily monetized
for example: when i first saw the backrooms i thought "oh that's a fun vibe; a blend of analog horror and liminal space" but now i hate that there's wikis detailing every floor of the backrooms and the creatures in them because now it's not some unknowable eldritch thing so much as it's a dungeon full of creepypasta OCs
