Like, my life list of sci-fi books is probably hugely influenced by which authors happen to be next to which other authors on the bookstore shelves, not to mention that I'm sure some letters of the alphabet are statistically more likely to be shelved at eye height in most stores.
Whereas for folks who are very used to buying things online, alphabetical organization may be nearly meaningless most of the time.
