i can't remember if i saw it on here or if i thought it up, but i'm currently thinking about how there hasn't yet been any long-distance yearning that isn't physically possible to achieve. like there's societal reasons and practicality reasons, but given modern technology and infrastructure humans can visit almost anywhere they'd like on the globe in about a day or two tops.
if we ever fling anyone far out into space that might not be true! someone could meet another person on the internet (after expanded into space), get to know them, get to loving them, and realize the futility of their situation. shedding a few tears for their sake atm

Yeah, but at a terrible price most of the time. And think of all the paperwork, like visas and shit.
