although they already, years after the proposal, finally approved an emoji that was previously my main priority (the bean emoji 🫘)
also i've read up a lot on what they look for in emoji proposals. here's a brief summary:
- demonstration of existing demand
- not substitutable by an existing emoji
- usable in a variety of contexts
- recognizable and relevant across cultures
