The preponderance of terms like "girldad" and "boymom" among cis people offers a clue into parental transphobia: they literally see their children's gender a part of their identity. "Well actually you're the one forcing me to take on an identity I don't want" is a DARVO, but it's a darvo supported by normative ideas of how parenthood should function.

we as a society need less boymoms and more boywives

WAIT

do cis ppl use "girldad" and "boymom" to mean they are a (cis male) dad of a girl, or a (cis female) mom of a boy ????????????

THATS SO CONFUSING ESPECIALLY when i see those terms and im like "oh DUH its when ur a mom who's a boy, or a dad who's a girl"
