I did not care for it. This was not clear to me based on descriptions I'd heard, but the book is pretty focused on codependent wives of alcoholics, and was less relevant to me than I expected. There are also far too many references to explicit spirituality, God, and twelve step programs (specifically Alcoholics Anonymous) for my taste. The basic premise of the book is perfectly fine (don't live your life trying to please/ control other people) but the specifics left a lot to be desired

These are all reasons I bounced off it hard when I tried to read it years ago, to my extremely vague recollection.
