Allegedly, regardless of the effect on the cooked grains, you should rinse it because it'll help wash out naturally occurring arsenic that rice cultivation is great at leaching from soil
What kind of rice do you use? If I don't wash my rice well enough it tends to boil over in the rice cooker
I think the difference between "unwashed" and "washed" rice is how sticky it is? I like sticky rice, so I never wash it
