You guys have never seen these? I think they were a grandpa thing, for the Silent Generation types. I see them all the time in antique shops in NE, and I think my mother still has a few of her mother's old sea captain and lighthouse keeper faced mugs. When I was little they were just some of the sureally quaint decor that old people had.
