I mean I shouldn't be surprised that conventional feminism, shaped by the writings of decently well off white cis women, continues to say shit that's the equivalent of "did you have a debutante ball or do you have male privilege"; what bothers me is the degree to which I keep seeing queer people around me take this shit as a template for their own liberation. Not everywhere of course, I've found plenty of pockets of people who are decently cool about these things, just, y'know it's prevalent enough to be annoying both online and off.
this reminds me of the small trans group i went to in the suburban area i grew up in. it was run by a middle-aged white trans woman who used he/him pronouns for me because she said wearing jeans and a hoodie showed i wasn't trying hard enough to present as female. i was dressed extremely similarly to how my mom, a middle-aged asian woman, almost always dresses
