big big big mood there, all around. i love the cluttered but not skeuomorphic internet with depth and little beveled borders that pop out of the screen to imply semantic hierarchy or plain old prominence, little gifs and badges

ohhh my god THESE looks!! what a blast from the past! when everything had to have like 5 photoshop filters and textures and effects. no 100x100 icon is complete without diagonal transparent stripes, paper texture, grunge layer, lens flare, abstract curly-cues, and a gradient in there as well. probably a blur animation and some song lyrics from death cab for cutie too for good measure lmfao.
for some reason scrapbook paper collections are still big into this aesthetic sensibility even though nothing else really is! it's really strange. i got a big box of free scrapbook paper and so much of it is like that.

is there a word for this specific flavor of skeumorphism? i'm surprised there isn't an entry for it on https://cari.institute/....
